HI THERE!

I AM Lila Behr!

Speaker, entrepreneur, activist, videographer, daughter, grand-daugher,  student of life dedicated to the protection of all life and biodiversity on our planet earth.

Jungle Life

Being raised between the jungle and on a permaculture, farm deeply connected with the principles of organic agriculture and our dependency on the fragile ecosystem in which we live in. Since I was a little girl, I remember the strong sense of purpose in caring for people, nature, and my community.

My German roots

At the age of 9 I moved to Germany where I enjoyed growing up in Bamberg, a conservative city in Germany. There I learned quickly how different our world and the cultures can be.

Exploring The World

After I graduated from high school, I explored South-East-Asia. I found myself cleaning up the oceans from thick black oil, plastic waste and working with a local school in Sumatra for circular economy solutions. Early I realized that my generation carries a shared responsibility for the future of humanity and have been dedicating all my life to this.

Trash into Treasure

Inspired by the principles of Precious Plastic Movement I started to build a plastic recycling machine & gave a workshops about environmental education on local schools in Costa Rica and Germany, Festivals and Eco-communities.

Project Earth

In 2018, I organized an environmental day Event called Project Earth in Germany, which led to the foundation of Gaia Protection, our youth-led NGO. Due to my sustainability activism in Costa Rica and Germany, I got invited to work at the local city hall for the environmental agency (agenda 2030) and helped create a zero-plastic campaign and a database of the essential impact organizations in the local community.

Gaia Protection

In 2019, my Mother, a like-minded group of friends and I founded Gaia Protection. It is a not-for profit that provides an umbrella organization for social and environmental projects to get turned into reality. Our main project is a collaboration with the organization Lebenshilfe e.V., where we teach individuals with special needs to recycle plastic waste and turn trash into treasure to close the circular economy loop.

Gaia Gives

After realizing the difficulties of Not-for-profit organizations myself (a constant lack of funding, time-intensive reporting and challenges to find experienced workforce) I decided to solve this problem by building an online fundraising platform that matches projects and donors directly. My team and I are dedicated to create more transparency and awareness in the Philantropy world by revolutionizing the current system through Blockchain technology and innovative storytelling practices for donors and projects.

MY STORY

Lila

I decided to share my personal transformation story, my story of growing up and becoming a global citizen with the world in order to inspire the people around me to reach their full potential and never stop dreaming!

Awaken

To be awake in life means we are fully conscious of the present moment. Whatever we do, we do it fully consciously, focusing on all our attention to the activity we are actually performing.

Heal

In order to make our world a better place we need to heal ourselves to give back to the earth. By healing our selves from the past, we can generate collective healing for the future of our planet and all humanity.

Love

It is about loving ourselves, our mistakes and old habits. We decide to spread our wings and love unconditionally to the higher purpose of humanity. Loving the miracles of life, the joy and opportunity to evolve all together.

My personal transformation story

My Childhood

I was born in the beautiful country of Costa Rica and raised on an organic farm…

My Teenage Years

At the age of 9 I moved to Germany where I enjoyed growing up in Bamberg, a conservative city in Germany. There I learned quickly how different our world and the cultures can be.

After my graduation

After I graduated I went travelling for a few months with my boyfriend and my mother. I felt that the world is free, a bright shining mystery of love. I was happy and also surprised: My desire to make a difference became bigger.

First steps into adulthood

At the age of 18 I decided to start my first project. I started to build the plastic recycling machines that I wanted to install in Indonesia. From this project our NGO Gaia Protection emersed.
